Billion Oyster Project, Governors Island, New York

Restaurants to Reefs Mural series were digitally drawn using ProCreate and printed on fabric.

The murals cover shipping containers several shipping containers located on a barge off the coast of Governors Island. The shipping containers act as oyster reef incubation tanks - holding recycled shells (part of BOP’s shell recycling program) cast into “reef balls” or held in oyster cages, harbor water, and oyster seed. Once the oyster seed sets on the reef balls, they are transported by barge to the reef install location.
